Well-made porcelain veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or more. Lifespan depends on your bite, whether you grind, and how well the gumline is maintained — the doctors will tell you honestly if grinding makes you a poor candidate.
Bonding is less expensive, done in a single visit, and reversible, but it stains and chips sooner. Veneers cost more and involve preparing the tooth, but hold their shade and shape far longer. The right answer depends on how many teeth are involved and how long you want the result to hold.
Not if they are designed well. Shade, translucency and proportion are chosen with you before anything is made, and you see the planned result first. Bring photos of smiles you like and photos of ones you do not — both are useful.
